Up and down, wet and dry
We were at the start of the third stage of the Exe Valley Way walk from Thorverton to Tiverton today, with the local walking group. It started with a high upward climb and some rain followed by more down and ups and dry spells. The upward climb was rewarded with some majestic views in all directions including rolling hills, glimpses of Dartmoor and views back towards the Sidmouth gap. After walking past Bickleigh Castle we then headed back along the river banks of the Exe through green wooded areas to Tiverton.
An easier walk than the previous more urban section and a good way to spend a day that later became very wet and windy.
