A congregation of Magpies
Looking up the collective noun for a group of magpies, other words were also given such as: charm, flock, gulp, murder, tiding, tittering and tribe. Many to choose from, I certainly wouldn't use the noun "charm" since they are noisy birds, kill others and attack inquisitive cats.
These four were young ones trudging along the hedgerow in the field the other side of our garden hedge. They must have hatched very early on as they appear fully grown.
The other extra photo is of pink Campions growing by the roadside near us.
