Illuminated Trail Boat procession.
The final day of the Country Fest and I was free to enjoy it. I took shots of rare breeds, birds of prey, kites, pony club Gymkhana and lots more. During the day it was announced that the trail boats were (wind permitting) going to have an illuminated procession.
SO before the appointed time of 9:30 we made our way down to canal. We were early many of the boats were just going down to the coal wharf where the procession was to start. So we stood around chatted and watched the bats zooming among the trees. Pity we didn't take the bat detector to get some idea of the species.
Eventually as it was getting dark the boats reappeared. This shot doesn't do them justice, each boat was covered in bunting as they had been during the day but masses of fairy lights. They really did look impressive and made a fitting end to a really enjoyable weekend.
