The Church of Sundays Bridge.

After work and doing late check on Miller (Mrs A S being on a late) I decided to make a short detour back to Thornton the site Sundays  Ings/Canal blip. I used to play cricket for this villages team and it holds many happy memories for me. The village has changed in the intervening years but the Church is still pretty I think if slightly tired.
The wind is still strong, the overnight rain giving way to showers, some heavy, and I noticed several effects of the wind on nature. The first at home a Willow tree on the far bank of the boundary beck was lifting its roots and the bank up to a foot in the air each time the wind hit its leaf laden branches, it is still standing as I type. Second on two occasions I saw Hares moving through the fields in obvious distress after being disturbed, I conclude they had not heard the approach of what had disturbed them and this had made their flight less organised than usual. The third instance Kestrels ( 2 separate sightings) struggling to hover and so for hunt! The second had actually come in to the yards building to shelter/hunt. We have touch wood escaped damage here so far, hope you all have too!
Thanks to all who passed on wishes for my  return to full health, I am much improved.
