Busy day and a photo that's a bit too busy to work well. Spent all day at the Highland Health Sciences building. If you're passing pop in, the installation that is in this photo is lovely to look at. Created by artist Christine Borland it is titled Ecbolic Garden. 40 hand blown glass droplets contain various plant specimens including marigold, wild parsnip and juniper. These were common plants thought to relate to midwifery practice.
Using a technique borrowed from the 19th Century called 'Spirit Collections', the plants held within the glass vessels have been bleached and preserved to reveal their underlying 'skeletons'.
