Indian Roller

Very pleased with this shot for two reasons-1. The bird stayed on the branch and didn't fly off immediately( I always feel a bit sad that birds think they are in danger from me! I wouldn't hurt a fly) & 2. It's a photograph taken with my new bridge camera and for a small sensor I think it's done remarkably well! It is now extremely hot and we are also experiencing no let up, even into the evening-it's far too hot so sending us some much needed rain would be very much appreciated by me and the birds!
