Boats and trains ...
This was taken from the ferry terminal in Douglas at just after 7.00 am this morning. A lovely morning, bright sun over the bay and blue skies all the way across to Heysham.
Not nearly so busy as when we crossed last Friday and there were masses of people waiting to cross to the Island when we got into Port. It will continue like this all week till the TT starts. It really does make you wonder where they will all go!
We spent a while watching them arrive, lots of bikers from across the continent, until our train home arrived.
In the foreground of this shot you can see the Tower of Refuge, usually marooned on its island of rocks but the tide was out this morning.
Looking the other way is the great sweep of the promenade and the town around the arch of Douglas Bay. I didn't take it this morning as not only does the port paraphernalia get in the way but yesterday the fairground arrived taking up much of the southern end of the promenade (that and the beer tents!) Instead I have put an extra on taken yesterday morning of the prom before the fair set up and when the wind was strong enough to blow the flags out!
Off again on Friday to see Grace in Bristol. A brief trip before the marking starts next week. Having only been in the house half an our a delivery of 7 packs of scripts arrived and there was already taken in by my neighbour. It's that time of year again, I'll need another holiday after all that.
