Beanstalk?

These plants just keep on going up and up. I don't remember noticing them before so they must be having a growth spurt this year.

It is lucky I snapped them on the way into work as my planned lunchtime walk was foiled by a crossword puzzle. My friend has got me into the New York Times puzzle and it is becoming addictive. Weirdly they have no brackets after the clues indicating number of letters/words which I didn't realise I relied on so much. I have also realised how bad my knowledge of US Geography and sports is!
