Competence is not mandatory
Today was a subset of the family in the Rural Life Centre. We were missing a couple of adults and one child, which was a shame.
The centre itself is absolutely wonderful - it's a history museum combined with practical skills - they have regular courses on old skills that are being lost such as blacksmithing.
I'm really tempted by the blacksmithing course.
It also has the advantage that it's just big enough for everyone to get lost without going too far. You constantly stumbled over an adult with a child or two in tow.
This photo was one of the fews times I actually looked like I could use the stilts. Out of the many attempts to photograph me on them it's the only one that actually captures me with both feet on them and not looking like I'm about to go flying.
