Grab Rail

Just a quick blip today, as I've been busy helping to sort out my 92-year-old Dad's flat to make it easier for him when he goes back there in the next few days.

About 6 weeks ago he fell and broke his hip and he's been convalescing at my brother 's house since having the hip repaired. As you can see I've fitted a new, large grab rail by the door of the flat to make it easier for him to get in & out of his flat when he's back on his own.

Wow, the bricks are the hardest I've ever had to drill into! I've got through 3 good quality masonry bits just drilling 8 holes...and tomorrow I need to do the same again on the other side of the door, so that he has a rail each side!
