Another

Another trade.  After all we've only got roofers, plumbers and electricians on the go at the moment.

We're lining up the refurbishment of some of the windows.  It's good that the wood's generally in good condition, albeit painted shut; less good that past, ahem, shortcuts mean that some of the sills need replacing.

The same joiner is going to give us a price for the French windows.  Investigating them closely today we found that under the paint and multitude of mis-matching surface bolts and latches is the original, rather elegantly designed, internal locking mechanism. 

Not sure I'll ever understand people who cover such things in paint.

Had a lunchtime break from the decorating, at a B&B consortium meeting at the Plough & Harrow .  Perfect timing for an email enquiry to arrive for a night we're fully booked for...  "Anyone got a double for June 13th?"
