I make it champagne o'clock!

We had a good day driving in the hills above Genova looking out for Casa Abandonata (my own translation!) and anything else that might be vaguely interesting.

I was hoping to capture some shots and a possible blip of abandoned houses in the hills but although we drove past at least ten of them we could see exactly why most of them were in a state of severe dereliction.

We found that every single one of the derelict houses but three of them had nowhere suitable to park a car and although we could see them from the roadside it was clearly apparent the others were practical impossible to access but both car or foot.

Unfortunately there was no Casa Abandonata photo shoot this year but we did get to visit the local ice cream shop and finish our bumpy hillside ride (once our stomachs had nicely settled of course!) with a nice big serving of real Italian gelato for each of us.

Having stuffed our faces to the brim with Gelato we went back to our hotel suite where Grandpa decided to polish off the final glass of Champagne from the bottle we ordered on room service to accompany our takeaway pizza the other night.

It's been a long and tiring day and so Grandpa, if you are reading this I bagsy the bathroom! :-D
