old faithful

I don't know a thing about growing roses.
I have heard that they are persnickety in terms of their need for food, protection from bugs, and special trimming.
So when we moved in here 5 years ago and discovered a rose bush among the weeds by the side of the house, I held out little hope for it.
But I did cut back the weeds.
And that is all the care I have been giving it ever since!
