Guildford
You will probably not recognise this view of Guildford from the Guildford Castle, but that tall building on the left breaking the horizon is Guildford Cathedral. I went in to Guildford today to meet my friend for a celebratory birthday lunch, and the restaurant was at the foot of the castle so I could not resist going up the keep to see the view. There is hardly anything left of the Guildford Castle, unlike yesterday's beauty, only the keep remains. We had a lovely healthy lunch and then it was back home again.
Last night's 50th birthday was a wonderful function held at the Wallace Collection at Hertford House in London. The curator was on hand to explain the collection to the guests, which was a pleasant way to enjoy our pre-dinner drinks, while viewing the art.
Tonight we are going to watch Thomas perform in the music scholars' concert - he is playing the trumpet and I hope it goes well.
