Fixing a Hole

Fixing a Hole

A day of problem solving, domestic chores and getting help. I was at home all day.  I woke early which I sometimes love... peace and quiet while I did yoga, drank tea and thought about the day. Given the amber storm warning for Norfolk, I rang the solar electricians to warn them...but they work in all weathers. I got a few hours work done indoors while the storms lashed and rain poured down -  before S. arrived. To keep costs down, I volunteered to be his labourer; so we were straight up the ladder onto the scaffold and on with the job of taking down the solar panels. Easier said than done as there are fifteen panels each weighing around 20 kg each and are in the middle of a pitch roof but the job went very smoothly and we had them all down and stored in under three hours. It was very humid but almost no rain.
At tea time, A. called in - our excellent plumber and central heating engineer - and replaced a leaky oil pipe which had been causing problems.
Just starting to feel thankful and having a cup of tea when the power went off. We had an electrical fault last week which we thought we had traced...but we obviously haven't. It may take a bit more detective work.

Anyway, now it's the weekend and time to relax. It's our wedding anniversary tomorrow - we are planning to go to a wine bar in Holt for supper and to celebrate...not sure if I will be able to cycle home in a straight line after that. Maybe sensible to book a taxi (but less fun).

Here is a picture of the front garden which I just took. The substantial triffid to the right of the picture is an ornamental rhubarb (Rheum palmatum) which seems hell bent on taking the place over.
