Greetings from Landau/Pfalz

Our annual works outing took us to Landau, about 85 km from here and in the south of the Palatinate.
Landau is an old garrison town - the French have been here last.
I didn't know the city and was very surprised of its beauty - more than worth a visit. Great buildings, many parks and a history to know and remember.

Nine of us had a 2-hour-guided tour in the noon hours, which was sooo  interesting.  (Actually it was way to hot for that - if we hadn't booked it in advance ....when I left the city around 5 pm the temperature was still at 34,2°C).

From my photo, taken shortly after noon on the Marktplatz, you can tell not too many people were crazy enough - like us - to walk around in the sun. It was the hottest day for 2015 so far.
Only Prinz Luitpold von Bayern on his horse wasn't complaining about the heat.

Landau is host of our states 2015 Gartenschau (garden exhibition), but I decided to go look at that in my summer holidays.
