An Old Work Horse

One of Air North's Hawker-Siddeley 748s refueling in front of the hanger in Whitehorse. These planes, built in the 1950's, are the backbone of the Air North fleet, transporting passengers and freight, including fuel, to isolated communities, mines and fishing camps throughout western Canada, but mostly in the north. Taking a flight is like stepping back in time. There's no seat-back entertainment system and the flight attendant wears a military flight suit and boots!
