One species each day (from my backyard)
I had taken only one picture this evening, so I had no choice but to identify it. I thought it was a New Zealand native and that it would therefore be easy to identify using J. T. Salmon's book 'The Native trees of New Zealand'. But it's not in that book, so I had to consult Google again. First using Landcare Research's Lucid 'Key to flowering plant genera of New Zealand', which was unsuccessful too. I realised that it must not be a native of New Zealand so did a general search on Google and found it eventually:Viburnum tinus, a native of the Mediterranean.
