Goodbye....
Today we said goodbye to a remarkable lady who lived life to the full until reaching 93. Part of me is glad for her that she didn't suffer with some awful illness or deteriorated over time, but was taken so suddenly with massive heart attack. She was able to live at home enjoy her life, no worries about getting frail and going into a nursing home. Nobody got to say goodbye but maybe that's better? Having watch my mother-in-law die in front of us at only 66, I don't know what is worse...sometimes we are better not knowing what is ahead of us....
We said goodbye after a service at her daughters home followed by the crematorium. As the service came to an end and minister talked about her life. He played her favourite war song she loved to sing "we'll meet again, don't know when, don't know where...." There wasn't a dry eye in the house..
Goodbye Aunt Sally ❤️
