Act Nonchalant!

A nice surprise this evening when our friend Karen phoned to say she was in Arbroath and would we like to nip down to the harbour for a quick ice cream at Marcos! never one to refuse ice cream we all dashed down and found out what she was celebrating. Ross her son had his last ever day at school today!  He's autistic and although he has been in a high functioning autistic unit at secondary school, lack of funding has meant that he (and Karen) have been badly let down by the services offered and they have been struggling for the past few years, with Ross only coping with minimal hours in school if at all. Today though marked the end of that and Ross will be continuing the college course he started in the last few months where he has been doing really well and even found an artistic streak after being told at school that he was rubbish at art. he's a great lad with a wicked sense of humour (like Karen) .
