Puffin
Today was club outing day. We went out to the Saltee Islands off the South-East coast. It's a wonderful, wonderful place with breeding colonies of Gannets, Puffins and several kinds of Gull. Not only that though, the scenery is terrific with the landscape full of bluebells even at this late stage of the year.
These puffins are not difficult to photograph. If I didn't know better I would nearly say that they are tame but the fact is that they are so used to people who come take photographs and go away again without causing them any harm that they are quite willing to let us get quite close.
I'm scorched by the sun and wind, footsore, very tired but extremely happy.
Next club trip is Tuesday evening in Glendalough.
