Hurrah!

I got over that ginormous tantrum, celebrates Ophelia. It was quite spectacular, even for her.

Busy day today, with ballet lessons all morning then a birthday party over lunchtime (hence Ophelia's mermaid fancy dress).

This afternoon we took Dad home to the farm. We'd collected him from the funeral parlour yesterday evening after he'd been delivered from the crematorium. At the farm we had a nice chat with my brother and sister in law (who had the 20 week scan pictures from their first little one due in October! So excited!).

At the end of the chat, we decided to take Dad back to our place as we didn't want him to be on his own in the farmhouse. It was the thing he dreaded most - those long evenings sat in front of the fire with just his memories for company. I think that is why he went out so much, as often as four nights a week, and virtually every daytime. He did that right until the week he passed away. It was a good way to live.

So we brought him back to the hustle and bustle of our house, and the girls brought back one of his flat caps to sit on top of the bluebell-covered card tube that he is now in. Seemed fitting for him.
