Kendall in Staithes

Yesterday is backblipped. Slight change of plans following yesterday's delays, but we set off bright and early this morning. I dropped S at his mum's and had just time to have a bowl of soup before setting off for Staithes. There I spotted a group of people milling about on the quay. All of them were holding cameras and all of them were too busy chattering to take photos -- it had to be a blipmeet. More blippers than I have ever seen in one place at one time! How lovely to come face to face with Kendall, Bluheron, WalkingMarj, and PaulaJ (plus HighPike)-- all familiar faces. I also met blip stars WhiskyFoxtrot, Folkiebooknerd (plus Spokes), 8, and CarolineJay. I hope I haven't forgotten anyone ...

It was a sunny but very windy day. We noisily took over a teashop with very efficient and tolerant staff (see WalkingMarj's extra photo -- I was going to blip Kendall and Paula together, but her photo is so much better than mine that I decided not to). Much tea and coffee and many scones were consumed before some of us headed off for an extremely bracing walk on the beach (see extra). Kendall and Sue rejoined us after popping back to the cottage and seeing WalkingMarj off. Chatting, striking poses, poking about in rock pools, and then a lone stranger ventured across the rocks towards us. "You don't know me, but I'm a blipper!" It was good to meet Spots of Time too. As the tide came in and threatened to cut us off, we dashed back across the rocks, resorting to walking backwards as we neared the beach and the wind blew sand horizontally into our faces. Kendall and Sue had been poking in rockpools looking for ammonites without success, and Kendall magically found a beauty at her feet.

Phew, enough excitement for one day! I'll backblip my second Oxford day later.
