A Memorial
Today has been a wonderful day! A blipmeet with the charming and chatty pair: Lovelupins and JaneM! We walked round the Lowry Quays area. We saw the Blue Peter garden the Daleks etc in Media City and admired the architecture of the Lowry theatre and the Imperial War Museum.
The striking steel building was created to reflect the subject matter of war; three ‘shards’ pieced together represent a globe that has been shattered by conflict, and though put back together again, will never be the same. The building is unlike a traditional museum; intentionally disorientating, sometimes even unsettling, to give you an immersive experience. (Museum website)
We went into this last and that is where I took this shot. this is a memorial from the World Trade Centre. It is part of a window frame, twisted in destruction. I chose this as I love the beauty of the colours of the rust and the shadows. One of the shadows make me think of the Phoenix rising above the fire in rebirth!
Other photos on Flickr very soon!
Home to be handed Grandbaby for an hour while mum and dad did a bit of housework! :-)))
