Preparing for Ramadan

This is on July 26th Street in Zamelek. The city's preparing for Ramadan and these lamps are starting to appear everywhere, together with special colourful Ramadan table cloths. The supermarkets are starting to set up their stands on the street outside their shops, selling Ramadan products and Ramadan food bags, which are bought to hand out to those in need who can't afford food to celebrate iftar, the breaking of the fast after sunset.

Thankfully, it's not 46 degrees here any more. Imagine fasting in those temperatures!
