Individual Iris

This is my first attempt at growing an iris!  Two more are in blossom.  I've always loved irises so it's exciting to have a few in my own garden. 

Flowers of almost every variety are evocative of sweet memories of my mother, a consummate gardener.  I was just thinking about how when I was growing up we always had a cut flower arrangement from our garden gracing both the dining room table and the coffee table in the living room.  My mother certainly took great care in creating a lovely garden.
