James and Sijia's wedding

A group of us who were still staying in town got a taxi over to the resort for the wedding at about 3pm in order to get there a bit early for a drink. As it turns out the ceremony was starting at 5pm and not 4pm like we all thought, so we had a bit of time to kill. We had a nice drink down on the private beach and then as other guests started to arrive, canapés were put out and the free bar was opened. Every time I was near the end of a piña colada, one of the staff brought me a new one. Then for some reason a few of us thought it would be a good idea to attempt to drink our way through the entire cocktail list.

There were only about 40 guests and the ceremony was held outdoors right next to the beach. It was gorgeous! The vows were beautiful and it was an honour to be there for the wedding of one of my oldest friends (we were close friends during all of our teenage years). Luckily he was feeling much better for the big day.

Later on we moved inside for the reception in to the bliss of A/C. The divided tables roughly by country so I was with all the Brits, although one of the Kiwis defected to us. We continued the cocktail challenge during the fantastic buffet dinner which even included lobsters and oysters! We headed back down to the beach to send off some lanterns. That's when my memory fades a little but there was lots of dancing and a bit of dressing up. So much fun and the couple's friends are all great. I love weddings!
