A guided tour ...

Jim and Marj had asked their friends Kathy and Larry if they'd take me on a bit of a guided tour of the local bird life, as it's the most incredible area for wildlife ..  

They very kindly agreed and I had a lovely morning being shown all sorts of exotic things I've never even heard of, including this yellow shafted Northern Flicker (a kind of woodpecker) - many are in this Flickr album, which I'm adding to as I sort out my photos.

I was also very excited to see this lovely Blanding's turtle - which I think Larry and Kathy were quite surprised to see as well!

I spent the afternoon alone in a local park and finally saw a bluejay!
