Lighthouse

The Isles Sanguinaires, uninhabited islands with a lighthouse off the west coast of Corsica. Where the Gulf of Sagone joins the Gulf of Ajaccio.
A bit of cloud started to build and there was a bit of rumbly distant thunder but it seems to have cleared again now.
We went to the point of Parata and walked up to the tower at the highest point to view the islands. Then fougasse( bread) , tapenade, local cheese and more dribbly peaches made a fine lunch.
After that we went to see some ancient stone menhirs at Filitosa. They are thousands of years old and are phallus like stones with carved faces on them. Some of them are situated round a very old olive tree, but the stones predate the tree, so we think ancient man sat around having a pre prandial beer and a dish of olives, spat the pips out and one of them eventually grew into this massive old tree.
A similar situation could occur in our garden in centuries to come. Minus the rude stones of course.
