The Cock Tavern

Good to see this place is still going. Unprepossessing entrance, but an interesting place in the middle of Smithfield Market in London. Its licensing hours are tailored to the needs of the market workers, who can often be found at the end of the night shift with a full english breakfast and a pint of Guinness (as can I, occasionally).

[Update 11th June: Sadly, since posting this, I have learnt that the Cock Tavern has actually been closed for over a year. As can be seen from the photo, the door is still open, and there were people going through it when I was there the other day, which is what led me to believe it was still open. I guess the door must be shared with some other premises.]
