Work before play

We like to leave the place perfect before we go away; grass cut, verges trimmed, caravan washed, house cleaned top to bottom.  That's how we are and it means that the place is always at its best just when we are leaving!!! So we were tired come evening time, but ready for our trip tomorrow to Gaillac to meet up with friends and to stock up on wine.  Everything in the garden is enjoying the heat, including this clematis.  It was hot again today and muggy with thunder rolling around in the evening, but again no rain.  We are hoping, that by giving the garden a good soak before we leave, plants, seedlings and shrubs will survive.
