The First Sunday of June
"What is one to say about June, the time of perfect young summer, the fulfillment of the promise of the earlier months, and with as yet no sign to remind one that its fresh young beauty will ever fade"
Gertrude Jekyll (1843 - 1932)
The churchyard of St. Luke's in Tiptree was looking particularly beautiful this morning when we walked through it into the church, with an abundance of roses, petunias, marigolds, foxgloves and other pretty and colourful flowers. This perfect pink flower was my favourite, and I walked back to the church this afternoon to capture it with my camera.
Mum and I had a quiet Sunday together, which was just exactly what we both needed.
