Sweet peas

As an experiment I decided to grow some of this year's sweet peas down at the allotment. The plants there are only half the size of the ones in the garden at home. I suppose the soil is poorer and they haven't been watered at all. But they started flowering two weeks ago whereas the ones at home are only just starting now.
