Charing Cross Mansions

Across the road from the pub where the June Glasgow Book Club meeting took place this evening.

We discussed Far from the Madding Crowd and Day of the Triffids (my nomination). Both books got high marks; 68 and 71 respectively.

My run of 3 successive successful nominations ended as my suggestion this month, The Book of Nightwomen, didn't get enough votes. I think being written in Jamaican patois put some folk off! Shame as it's a stunning book!
