New Zealand fantail

I walked along Harts Creek to the bird hide on Lake Ellesmere this afternoon.  There were no birds on the lake close enough to photograph in the dull light, but I did see an Australasian crested grebe.

This New Zealand fantail (Rhipidura fuliginosa) was darting along the fence keeping an eye for any insect I might disturb as I walked along the track.
