Forest Quadtych

We've been under the shadow of the Nor'West cloud for much of the day here in the foothills, the threat of rain present but not eventuating unfortunately. After all, we really could do with some rain for the tanks....

I had in mind to create a 'Tiny Tuesday' macro shot in Dennistoun Bush, so I took a wander over the road and into the forest. Unfortunately I didn't get to photograph the tiny, instead going closeup to some of the forest giants and their brethren. So here we have from left to right the bark of the Matai, Totara, Kotukutuku/Tree Fuchsia and Kapuka/Broadleaf.
