Kittiwake (Rissa tridactyla) on Bempton Cliffs
To distinguish a kittiwake from a [herring] gull look for two things: its black wing tips which look like they were dipped in the ink well and its plain yellow beak (the herring gull has a red 'pecking' spot for its young).
