A Lone Beauty

There is only one rose on this bush at the moment; but I thought it was so pretty. The grass behind it gave it a nice blurred background.

Tonight my first grandchild graduated from high school. I think there were about 600 in his graduating class and 15 of them got the highest scores in Oregon on the PSAT test. They were respectful and appropriately happy to be graduating. There were a few beach balls being bounced around toward the end of the ceremony, but teachers on the end of each row quickly confiscated them. I think they wanted to keep a tight rein on the group. They are off to an all  night graduation party for just the graduation kids. It is a big fun party that the parents support and chaperone. The whole idea is to keep the kids off the streets driving tonight so they have a safe graduation night. Every year it seems that a young person who has just graduated dies in a car crash shortly after graduation. It is so very sad and hopefully preventable this year!
