Poppies and Bugle

A wet day is not an uncommon experience in Orkney, and you just have to make the most of it, so I went into Kirkwall and met up with Lady Findhorn for the day! His lordship wisely left us to it, the gallant gentleman!

We did a bit of craft shop browsing and buying and explored the newly refurbished Fossil and Vintage Centre, where we managed a lovely bowl of soup each. Excellent soup and well worth a visit to see the displays and exhibits too.

We took Ollie for a very wet and blowy walk along the beach, where, despite the weather he decided to get just that little bit wetter and go and lie in the sea, and then headed up to the Tapestry Gallery. Some absolutely stunning works, so beautiful and awe inspiring. Really nice to see new works that I hadn't seen before.

Before we knew it the sun, which had been in hiding all day, was below the yard arm and food and drink beckoned! Lady F and I headed home to the poor hard working Postie, and after a lovely leisurely evening Postie and I deposited Lady F back to her holiday cottage.

A great Blip meet! Such a lot of things to chat about, such easy company and such a fun day!
