siblings.....

Today had the privilege of going to see some early years centres - in fact the reason I was invited to Nkhoma was to advise them on how to operate the centres more effectively.  I found the same story that I find all over Malawi - many children, few trained caregivers and no play materials!  This little girl with her young brother touched my heart strings today though - she was just so sad looking - not sure if it was hunger or just sadness as I don't know anything about the child!

Malawi needs to take the welfare of children seriously - imagine, this year again in the national budget, early childhood does not feature and yet we have over 4 million children under 6 years old receiving little or no care...........this is why I am here!
