Ready for Launch

The Scott Memorial in Edinburgh has always looked like a gigantic gothic rocket to me, that someone has simply plonked on Princes Street.

When I was a kid, I used to imagine it blasting off one afternoon, off to places unknown. I wonder what Walter would have made of that?
