Appletree Farms
I still feel a bit like I'm on holiday living in Cheshire. Everything has that lovely newness and it's so clean and green. We are woken up by birdsong and it's so quiet compared to our last house which was slap bang in the middle of a busy bustling suburb. At night we look at the stars and the sky is clear of any light pollution.
Just up the road, we are into open countryside and farms within minutes. Nothing like the farm I was brought up on. These farms are manicured and picturebook Cheshire farms - like Appletree Farm in my old childhood favourite Enid Blyton stories.
Today I had a meeting at a local pub with my business partner so I walked there through the fields and footpaths and it was glorious. The pub is a pub Angus and I visited when we first moved to Manchester. I remember driving in my little Mini for what seemed like forever down country lanes to get to it. Today that same pub was just a 25min walk from my house. It felt amazing!
The meeting benefited from the change of scene too. My business partner and I sat outside and were much calmer and less hassled than we would have been in the City (where we normally meet). We had a great meeting and solved lots of problems.
