to 4 unknown German airman

there is this stone by a bridleway track just out of Kings Somborne near Hoplands that you would easily miss. A memorial to 4 unknown German airman who died when their plane was shot down in 1940.  I stop and have a look at it every time I cycle past, it feels very sad to be just out there literally in the middle of nowhere, almost forgotten.

But there is a plaque that was added at a later date which shows the names of the unknown airman.  I feel better seeing their names recorded there. No longer anonymous or forgotten.
