Wakey wakey

Listening to Radio Lancashire this afternoon they were at the Blackpool Wake park.
Been past it many times but never been in.
You travel across the lake on a board rather like a snow board, pulled by a pulley system that is controlled by an instructor to keep you safe.
As you get better you go faster and then start doing tricks.
You can also do open water swimming there. I had to admire the teenage swimmers who had done a pool session at 6 this morning, then an open water swim here and were going back to the pool tonight.
I've noticed over the years I've been teaching that swimmers like this also produce excellent grades in school. I believe it is down to dedication and discipline.
My own dedication and discipline were somewhat lacking as the pile of marking I brought home at the start of the half term break is still waiting for me. But I had much more fun at the wake park and will be trying it out soon.
And if the assignments had been on time I would have been more motivated to mark them quicker :)
