A year on ...
A year ago we spent the day at the hospital with Peter, Janice, Graeme and Matt as we said goodbye to Mum. This year we spent the day with them in St Andrews. It was bitter sweet as we remembered Mum but enjoyed being together as a family - even though not all of us were there!
This fountain in the middle of St Andrews is also to commemorate family. This monument in cobbled Market Street is now filled with flowers, but it was originally a fountain. Lady Catherine Melville ordered its erection in 1880, in memory of her son George Whyte Melville - a Victorian novelist and horseman - who was killed in a riding accident in 1878.
