Wide-Angle Wednesday: "Modern" - Metro lift shaft
I haven't much bliptime today so I thought I'd photograph something nearby for today's "Modern" wide-angle challenge.
About 5 years ago they rebuilt the footbridge over the Metro railway line near our house. The rebuild included the fitting of a lift (elevator) at each end to help those who can't manage stairs. The design was distinctly modern, minimalist and functional as you can see from this photo of one of the lift shafts.
Did I say "functional"? Well yes, the lifts do function most of the time, which is good - but I don't think the minimalist clock has ever worked...this photo was taken at 3pm but the clock disagrees!
PS Sky as blue as this is rather unusual in northeast England...we're hoping it lasts until Saturday as we're having a UK celebration of Son #1's wedding (which took place in the USA nearly 3 weeks ago). The weather forecast is not hopeful however...!
Many thanks again to hobbs for organising WidWed :)
