Amy Johnson

This is another "Tell the World" blip as it is a statue in Hull - UK's Cultural City for 2017.
This statue commemorates the pioneer aviator - Amy Johnson, who was born in Hull in 1903. It is by Harry Ibbetson and was sculpted in Portland Stone, and unveiled in 1974. It is positioned in Prospect Street, outside the  Shopping Centre.  It is not very popular unfortunately, not being a statue worthy of the historical importance of Amy Johnson to Hull, and not being in a good location for viewing.
But - it's worth noting that Amy Johnson was born ion Hull.
