Fascinating Faces
Today I spent a day in Pilsen, first visiting their university and then the exhibition I planned to visit a long time ago. Amazing paintings of Maori chiefs painted by Pilsen painter Gottfried Lindauer came to Pilsen to celebrate the European Capital of Culture. I was fascinated by his ability to capture the nobility of these people, their intensive looks and their fascinating stories. This gentleman, a chief of the Ngāti Rakai-paaka sub tribe, called Ihaka Whanga was raised by his relatives after his father was killed and eaten. I must visit New Zealand one day.
