On the rail trail
This Tuesday's walk with Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers was a linear walk from Moodiesburn to Kirkintilloch. It was, as you can see from the photo, a walk completed in bright sunshine - something that hasn't happened too often this year (so far!) - and wasn't without its own little idiosyncrasies: we started by walking through a cemetery and we crossed a busy motorway (albeit across a bridge).
Apart from those minor 'highlights', most of the walk was along the route of an old railway track and, indeed, part of the walk has signposts indicating this as the Strathkelvin Railway Path.
A lower than usual turnout today - there were 18 of us - as I think the linear route doesn't suit everyone in terms of bus connections, etc. but a pleasant, easy walk all the same.
