Photo 348...
These butterflies really sucked me in today! I followed one from my yard to to a neighbor's this morning. The sun had yet to grace my garden, so I was looking for some flowers with light. Apparently, all you have to do is ask a butterfly and they will swiftly direct you to the nearest nicely lit pollen source. ;-) What I found was one big lilac bush, 3-5 swallowtail butterflies at a time and many other tiny winged insects models. Jack-Pot! Of course I only had my macro lens with me and they all seemed to be finding the top of the 10 foot bush interesting... But I got a few good shots. After an evaluation on the computer, I knew I'd have to make another trip with my long lens later in the day.
It was like shooting fish in a barrel. Eventually, just one butterfly in a shot seemed too easy and I wanted two... Next thing you know, two posed together. Then I set my sights on three... Yep, got it! Back in for a computer eval. Not bad, but now I'm obsessed and almost out of light for the day. This time I was after... a flight shot. I tried many times but nothing had work. Gosh, earlier it seemed like all I had to do was ask and things worked out with this bush... LOL So I stood there until my back hurt from the weight of the camera and eventually was ready to give up... When...
This was my LAST shot of 348 today. Yikes.
I'll get some up on Flickr soon... Right now Piper is looking neglected an needs a walk!
Edit: Okay; I've added 9 more to Flickr. If anyone has any interest. :)
